TAA Members visit “The Hill”

Several Members of the Tennessee Auctioneers Association met with  our TAA lobbyist, Jay West and made a trip to Legislative Plaza for an Auctioneers Day on the Hill.

March 28th, 2007 will go down as a day in Tennessee History!  Governor Phil Bredeson signed a proclamation declaring March 28, 2007 Auctioneers Day in the State of Tennessee. There are 5 certified copies of the official proclamation of which 3 will be sold at this summers fun auction to be held in Jackson, TN. If you would like a own a certified copy of the proclamation, this will be your only chance!

During Auctioneers Day on the Hill, TAA members met with Lieutenant Governor Ron Ramsey, who is also an Auctioneer. Members also met with Senator Joe Hanes, Ben West, Douglas Henry and other State Representatives about bills and issues that pertain to Auctioneers and the Auction Business in the state of Tennessee.  Members who attended broke into groups made it a point to meet with their personal representatives of the district they live in.  At the end of the day, members met back at our lobbyist, Jay West office to compare notes.

Protect, Promote and Represent the interest of the Auction Profession in the state of Tennessee is the mission of the TAA. In the Future, The Tennessee Auctions Associations Board of Directors plans to make Auctioneers Day on the Hill an Annual tradition and urges more TAA members to attend next year.
