Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Auctioneers Association (TAA) is pleased to announce that Shane McCarrell of Adams, TN  recently won the title of 2019 Tennessee State Champion Auctioneer during the Winter Convention in Nashville, TN.

“I am honored to have been chosen from among some of the most talented auctioneers in the state,” said McCarrell. The auction industry is thriving in Tennessee as buyers and sellers realize the auction method is the best way to buy and sell assets.”

Top auctioneers from across the state of Tennessee gathered in Nashville this December to showcase their skills and walk away with a $1,000 cash prize.  The contest consisted of selling three items in a preliminary round, then the top three were selected to advance to a final round which included both an interview and live selling portion.

"We had an outstanding field of contestants for this year’s championship," commented Junior Staggs, TAA Contest Committee Chair.  "The winner receives a $1,000 cash prize, and a paid entry into the International Auctioneer Championship to be held in July.  .

 “The challenge of standing on stage in front of your peers will absolutely make you a better bid-caller and auctioneer,” McCarrell stated.  “The friendships and the network I’ve created across the state have been tremendous.  It will be a thrill to represent the state of Tennessee on the national level in July, McCarrell added.

The Tennessee Auctioneers Association promotes high professional standards and encourages members to practice the highest principles of integrity in their auctioneering profession.  Members agree to work uniformly to remain competitive in the auctioneering profession.

Bobby Colson Will Lead the TAA in 2019

Bobby Colson will lead the TAA Board of Directors; High Turnout at Winter Event

Nashville, Tenn. – The Tennessee Auctioneers Association made several key initiatives at its 2018 Winter Convention at the Inn at Opryland, Nashville, Tennessee.

Bobby Colson of Nashville, Tn. has been elected President of the TAA at the event’s membership meeting.    

Colson will lead an 8 member board for the TAA, which has been serving auctioneers, auction assistants and their staffs in and around Tennessee for more than 50 years. The TAA has more than 200 members and associates throughout Tennessee and the United States.
Several other board members were elected at the convention. Patti Baldini of Hendersonville will be Vice President for 2019. James Gary of Spring Hill returns as Treasurer.  Directors for 2019 will be: Phillip Traylor of Clarksville, Jay Cash of Murfreesboro, Shane McCarrell of Adams, Woody Woodruff of Shelbyville and Junior Staggs of Puryear.    David Allen of Nashville is the immediate Past President.                                                                                                                          

Overall, the winter convention was a tremendous success. Over 100 members and associates attended the two-day event, which included six hours of continuing education.  One of the largest attended event in several years.
